Of Wood & Stone

Everywhere I look, I see opportunities. I see how a space can be used, a color will brighten or activate a room, a change will create a whole new way of using a space. I've been a designer for the last 20 years, fourteen of it in the Rochester area during which I have noticed a change. People are looking for more than just good design.  They are looking for a connection:  someone who understands and listens, someone who will help them through the process.

I love art and architecture. Even as a little girl, it was the thing that most intrigued me.  I was fortunate to have a family who traveled and I was able to visit many great monuments of architecture all over the world. I also loved to watch the construction process and how the whole structure came together. I studied Architecture for a few years but found I was really driven by the interaction with clients. I love meeting with people.  I love figuring out what they need and how best to make it happen. The best dialogue happens when working out the detailed parts of the home where most of the living takes place: the kitchen, bathrooms and offices. This connection is true for remodeling as well as for new construction.  Making these spaces work and fit not only the function but the people is what drives me. This is what brings me joy. This is what I live to do.

Of Wood & Stone, is a design service focusing primarily on Kitchen and Bath design. In addition to design services, I am able to offer selections in cabinetry, counter tops, lighting, hardware and plumbing fixtures.  My process is client centered. I go to my clients' home and talk to them in their space. We talk about what they want and what they need. I believe the client connection is the most important part of all home remodeling and design. The clients comfort and understanding is the most crucial part to the project and its success. Clients need to be able to trust their designer and feel confident, not only in communicating their needs and wants but in having faith their designer will be their advocate throughout the process. For me, this is about people working together.
